TECHNICAL INFO
APS Vision has considerable experience in the design and manufacture of inspection systems for nuclear applications. Our products range from simple CCTV type systems through to complex image processing and analysis platforms.
High-resolution Image Capture System (HICS)
HICS enables the capture of high-resolution images from a wide range of analogue and digital video sources. The video capture hardware is designed without compromise to ensure the very best quality images from your video source.
The most basic variant (HICS1) supports capture from CCIR, RS170, NTSC and PAL analogue cameras. The HICS2 platform supports analogue and digital video capture up to 1024x1024 pixels. Using HICS3 it is possible to capture images with resolutions up to 4096x4096 pixels from analogue, digital (e.g. CameraLink, IP) video sources.
Features common to all HICS system include:
- Live image capture and display
- Text overlay onto both live and archived footage
- Image storage in a range of uncompressed and compressed formats (TIFF, BMP, JPEG, JPEG2000)
- Simple image processing, i.e. basic noise reduction
- Full operator audit trail
Optional features include:
- Analogue (PAL/NTSC) output for storage to tape
- Real-time image storage to hard disk or DVD
- Advanced image processing, i.e. noise reduction, contrast enhancement, and motion compensation
- Inspection report creation
- Integration to ‘back office’ image storage database
Image Inspection Platform (IIP)
Certain tasks require more that just a visual inspection. It may be necessary to measure certain features or flaws, perhaps read text on storage containers, or count objects in a scene. The IIP system is a bespoke image analysis platform for demanding tasks. In can be customised with the exact features you require and, if necessary, custom image processing algorithms can be developed. The IIP system is suitable for the following tasks:
- Component Measurement
- Optical character recognition
- Automatic flaw detection
- Component counting
- Thermography
